The Journey

Day 1 – Welcome to Zambia (Mfuwe – South Luangwa National Park)

Welcome to the South Luangwa National Park – amongst the most spectacular wildlife sanctuaries in the world with one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. Home to over 400 species of birds, the park is also known for its hippo population and the endangered African wild dog as well as some unique species of zebra and giraffe. Let nature envelope you in all her magnificent beauty and majesty as you step out to explore this remote region. Enjoy the day at leisure, after checking in to your hotel.

Day 2 – In the Jungle (South Luangwa National Park)

Head out on a game drive, led by experts, to explore various parts of the South Luangwa National Park. We will leave at dawn to observe the morning rituals of the animals – a great time to spot predators out for their hunts. Look out for a Thornicroft’s giraffe; they are hard to miss! You may also spot baboons and zebras on the way. After sunset, we will see a different side of the jungle as we step out for a night safari to uncover nocturnal animals, such as caracal, African wild cat, and other hunters. This is the time when leopards descend from trees and the trumpet of elephants can be heard in the distance.

Day 3 – Walking the Wilderness (South Luangwa National Park)

Today, we step out for a ‘Walking Safari’ for a more up-close experience of the wilderness. The Walking Safari is one of the finest ways to experience Africa’s pristine wilderness. The safari is guided by professionals and arm scouts, who will enlighten and guard you at the same time. The highlight of a walking safari is that it lets you be one with nature, without the barrier of a vehicle. Walking next to a giraffe or an elephant is truly an enriching and humbling experience.

Day 4 – Of Colonial Cities and Sunset Cruises (Mfuwe – Livingstone)

Today, you will be transferred to the airport to board a flight to Livingstone, named after Scottish explorer Dr David Livingstone. A historic British colonial city, Livingstone has a rich culture and history, which is a blend of colonial architecture and influences with traditional lifestyle and village life. Spend your day soaking in the history of the city as you walk past significant buildings from the 1900s. In the evening, set out for a sunset cruise along the Zambezi river. Get mesmerised by the scenic beauty of a sun-kissed river that evokes mystery and excitement. On the banks the wildlife can be seen grazing, a magical scene, fit to become a memorable one.

Day 5 – Fall and Rise (Victoria Falls)

Begin your day with a guided tour of the Victoria Falls, locally known as Mosi-oa-Tunya, which means "The smoke that thunders". For lunch, enjoy some delicious local cooking before we head out for a helicopter ride over the Victoria Falls. The mesmerising views of the pristine water falling down and the clouds of mist rising above are captivating to watch. From here, travel to the Maramba aerodrome to catch a view of the Mosi O Tunya National park where you may get a glimpse of wildlife going around in herds.

Day 6 – A Day to Relax (Livingstone)

Take the day to rejuvenate or explore the area as you please. You can revisit the serene Victoria Falls or explore the wilderness nearby. Or simply walk into the city and visit some of Livingstone’s beautiful churches and museums. Spend the evening relaxing in the luxury of your hotel before we make our way back the next day.
