Exploring Stockholm (Stockholm – Kiruna)

If you are looking to visit the top highlights, there’s the Old Town and 18th-century Drottningholm Palace for a historic throwback. And a number of interesting museums, including The Vasa, a maritime museum featuring an almost fully intact 17th century warship; and the world’s first open-air museum, Skansen, which showcases traditional life in the region. Later in the evening, you will take the overnight train from Stockholm to Kiruna.

You will be met at the train station and transferred to the iconic Icehotel. Remade and reinvented each year with ice from the river Torne, the hotel is surely one of the most unique and remarkable stays in the world. Stay inside one of the surreal ice rooms, hand crafted by artists from around the globe. You can spend the time relaxing or step out to experience the unique landscape. Or try some Sami activities to learn more about the local culture, tasting authentic regional dishes and interacting with reindeers.
The Magical North (Kiruna – Abisko)
After breakfast, transfer to Kiruna train station, where you will board the train to STF Abisko Mountain Station, in the heart of Abisko National Park. 250 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle, visitors from all over the world come here to experience Arctic Sweden and for a chance to see the magical Northern Lights.
Into the Wilderness (Abisko)
After breakfast, put your snowshoes on! Today, you will tread lightly across the snow-covered ground to the heart of the Arctic birch forest. Breath in the fresh air and enjoy the utter silence and stillness of the extreme North. You will have a chance to discover the unique wildlife of the region. And stop by for a “fika” – a quintessentially Swedish “coffee break” which is perfect to socialise with the locals. In the evening, enjoy the silent Abisko National Park in darkness. Picturesque Pitstop (Abisko to Narvik)
After breakfast, leave for the city of Narvik in Norway. Surrounded by majestic mountains and fjords, the place is perfect for skiing and mountaineering. Take the day off here, at your stylish accommodation in the city centre.
View from the Top (Narvik – Tromsø)
After breakfast at the hotel, take the 1810-meter long cable car to the highest point of the station where the breath-taking views over Narvik City, the deep Ofotfjord and the surrounding mountains await you. Later in the day, you will board the bus to Tromsø, the capital of the Arctic.
The Arctic Capital (Tromsø)
Take the cable car for panoramic views of Tromsø and the surrounding islands, mountains and fjords. Tromsø is known as the Gateway to the Arctic, and with the most Northern Lights in the world, it is counted amongst the best places on earth to experience this mysterious phenomenon. Moreover, the city is surrounded by hundreds of islands, blue fjords, glaciers and the majestic peaks of the 1,800m Lyngen Alps, making for an awe-inspiring setting for your stay.
Transfer to the airport to board your flight back.
